FairShareUp does not require personal details beyond what is required to authenticate and register your account. This includes:
- Authentication Details: Email addresses and user credentials stored securely within Google Firebase authentication.
- Ledger Information: Expense lists, transaction records, currencies, trip nicknames, and email lists of participants you explicitly add.
- Voice Transcriptions: Transcribed text is parsed locally within the browser context and is never sent to remote third-party AI interfaces.
2. How We Use Information
We process data purely to facilitate the features you invoke:
- Calculates balance divisions and payback settlement routes.
- Dispatches push notifications via OneSignal when users add or modify ledger entries.
- Caches trip information locally inside your browser storage for offline access.
3. AdSense and Cookies
We utilize Google AdSense advertisements to keep the app 100% free. Google AdSense may place cookies or device tokens inside your browser to serve customized contextual ads.
- Google uses cookies to serve ads based on user visits to other sites.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
4. GDPR Data Protection Rights
We want to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
- The right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
- The right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.

5. CCPA Privacy Rights (Do Not Sell My Personal Information)
Under the CCPA, among other rights, California consumers have the right to:

- Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.
- Request that a business that sells a consumer\'s personal data, not sell the consumer\'s personal data. We do not sell user data.

6. Data Retention and Security
We implement industry-standard database security rules and encryption protocols to protect your personal information. Your expense ledgers and authentication profiles are retained only for as long as your account remains active. You can delete your account at any time through your profile settings page, which will permanently purge all your personal transaction history from our systems.
