FairShareUp is an independent web utility application designed to help users log, calculate, and coordinate shared expenses (such as rent, utility bills, restaurant dinner checks, travel purchases, and roommate flat contributions). The calculations and payback settlement routes computed by FairShareUp are for organizational and convenience purposes only.

The outputs generated by the application do not constitute professional financial advice, legal counsel, or binding accounting sheets. Users are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all numbers, weights, currencies, and split ratios before making any physical payments or settling debts offline.

2. No Banking or Money Transfer Services

FairShareUp is **not** a bank, payment processor, licensed broker, money transmitter, or financial institution. We do not hold, transfer, manage, escrow, or transmit money between users or group members.

The platform solely tracks a ledger of balances. Any actual settlement of balances (e.g. sending funds via cash, bank transfer, Venmo, PayPal, UPI, or other third-party money transfer apps) must be performed independently by users outside of the application. FairShareUp is not involved in, nor responsible for, any offline monetary transfers or payment failures.

3. Accuracy of Calculations & Software Integrity

While we strive to ensure that our calculation algorithms, debt netting routes, and currency converters are mathematically accurate and function correctly, FairShareUp does not represent, warrant, or guarantee that the calculations will be completely free of errors, bugs, or omissions.

Currency conversion rates displayed within the platform are fetched from external public exchange rate APIs and are updated periodically. They may differ from the precise rates applied by your bank or credit card processor. We assume no liability for discrepancies between exchange rates calculated in the app and actual transaction rates charged by financial providers.

4. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall FairShareUp Inc., its founder Vansh Mehta, or its contributors be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the platform. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Financial disputes, arguments, or relationship strain between flat roommates, partners, friends, or family members.
• Incorrect calculations, ledger entry losses, or offline bank transfer details input errors.
• Loss of transaction logs due to database cache resets, offline sync conflicts, or server downtime.
• Damages resulting from the security of personal accounts or password compromise.

5. Advertising Disclosures

We serve advertisements on our screens through Google AdSense to offset hosting, syncing, and operational costs while keeping our bill splitter 100% free. These ads are served independently. FairShareUp does not endorse, sponsor, or guarantee any commercial product, service, or financial offer displayed within these advertisement widgets. Users interact with advertised external sites entirely at their own risk.

We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update this Disclaimer at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the platform following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Disclaimer terms.
